ABOUT NEURONOURISHLAB
NeuroNourishLab was created in response to a persistent gap in nutrition care, not a lack of information, but a lack of support for the realities of behaviour change.
Many people already know what they “should” do nutritionally. What is often missing is an understanding of why change is difficult, why patterns repeat, and how stress, learning history, cognitive load, and context shape everyday decisions around food.
NeuroNourishLab exists to address that gap.
OUR APPROACH
The work at NeuroNourishLab is education-focused, structured, and behaviourally informed. It draws on principles from nutrition science, behavioural science, and neuroscience to help clients understand their own patterns and develop skills for sustainable change.
The focus is not on rigid adherence to plans or prescriptive rules, but on building capacity, flexibility, and informed decision-making over time.
Support is time-limited, intentional, and grounded in clear scope boundaries.
THE PRACTITIONER
NeuroNourishLab is led by Justin Fiocchi, a nutrition professional with a specialised focus on eating behaviour, behaviour change, and the application of neuroscience to real-world nutrition practice.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Neuroscience, with a focus on behavioural neuroscience. His postgraduate training includes focused study in areas such as autism, trauma, depression, and mood disorders, with an emphasis on how these factors interact with behaviour, learning, stress responses, and decision-making.
This training informs how nutrition support is structured and delivered, without extending into diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions.
Practice is grounded in evidence-based education, ethical scope, and clear referral pathways when needs fall outside nutrition-focused behavioural support.
COLLABORATION AND SCOPE
Where appropriate, nutrition work at NeuroNourishLab occurs alongside psychological care, with direct collaboration to ensure roles remain clear and complementary.
NeuroNourishLab does not provide psychological treatment or therapy, and does not replace care delivered by a psychologist, dietitian, or medical professional when those services are required.
Clear boundaries are central to the practice, and referral is prioritised whenever work falls outside scope.
If you are considering working with NeuroNourishLab, the next step is to review the suitability process and determine whether this approach aligns with your needs.
